This was going to be the beginning of my
River/Kaylee fic.
I'm running out of space on my computer, so you can have it. *g*
I've done so few of the things I'm supposed to have done. And I still have P and L's Wednesday tape. But I have tomorrow morning off.
I wrote a very strange House/Wilson thing. I have no idea if it's worth anything, so you may be getting that in a couple of days, too.
PromiseA Firefly drabble by Rose Williams.
Owned by Joss Whedon.
Rated G.
Set after Objects in Space.

She’s just a girl Kaylee tells herself,
Just a girl. She repeats the phrase like a mantra, but not as protection against any evil. Not in denial of the confidence with which River moves, or the way her gaze makes Kaylee aware of her own body, or the understanding that lingers between River and Serenity.
She repeats the mantra in wonder. River is girl who has done so much. What potential does she have as a woman?
River smiles at her. It is not a smile of denial, but of promise.
Wait to see what I can do it says.
