Wednesday: a reading post

What I've just read

The Killing Moon and The Shadowed Sun, by NK Jemisin.
These are great. I like the characters and the world in fascinating and it is refreshing to read a story that is so much about life in the city. I am unsure what I feel about the final resolution, but it works. Everything else that happens is fantastic. I'm not going to easily leave these characters and this world behind.

What I'm reading now

Blackout, by Connie Willis
I have only just started, so I don't know how it's going yet. I love the time travel history thing, though. I have devoured To Say Nothing of the Dog twice. It took me a while to get going with Doomsday and I did find it slow going. I think Blackout might end up like that, although I find the time period more interesting.

What I'm reading next

The Fifth Elephant, by Terry Pratchett
This is the Discworld book that I am up too, and I think that it has been several years since I read any Pratchett. I thought that I owned it, but I don't, which is why I'm not reading it yet. I think that I will simply borrow it from the library when I next get to the library and then have it for when I'm done with the current book.
