Mark, pondering

(no subject)

I have spent too much of the last three weeks rereading all the Tortall books. I read Alanna, Daine and Kel's series and have now stopped. Yesterday I finished The German Genius, which is a pretty good book of the history of German thought from the middle of the seventeenth century to the present.

I also got to repair an object from the University library. Now I have to write up the report on doing that, which is way less fun but more fun than many other things.

Today was a Spring day, which is very awesome. Sunday is a plant planting day. I hope to have all the reports written by then, which will make tomorrow a very report writingish day.

There are all these ways in which I want my life to be different that I do nothing to actually bring about.

Meanwhile, I reblog a lot of things on Tumblr and play too much Candy Crush Saga.

I still don't understand Twitter.

GIP

I have finally finished watching Community.

So I have these icons that I captured while watching.

.

I loved it. I thought the ending really worked. Now I'm going back to reading fic.

I supposed I should try tumblr again. Recommend tumblrs to me? Even your own.

Remix Fic

I failed to write a remix fic this year. :-(
I have only just managed to complete all my assessment so far this semester, and that is something I have taken on quite a bit of (non-immediate) debt to be allowed to do. So.

But, I signed up, so I get a fic!

It is awesome. It has so many of my favourite things, including Harry Potter backstory/missing scenes and Dudley thinking and Petunia. It is lovely.

Victories Worse Than Defeat (Things That Go to Make Up a Life Remix) (1704 words) by Anonymous
Chapters: 1/1
Fandom: Harry Potter - J. K. Rowling
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
Characters: Dudley Dursley, Petunia Evans Dursley, Harry Potter
Additional Tags: Backstory, Remix Redux, Remix 2014
Summary:

Dudley finds things that he didn't know he knew, didn't remember that he recalled.

I have been spending too much of the last couple of weeks watching and reading Phryne Fisher Mysteries.

So I made this icon of Dot.

That is all for now. I am way behind on an assignment that I need to add more words to.

3. Nice weather.
4. I made myself lunch and it turned out good.

Things I did well:

1. Went to the travel agent.
2. Downloaded lots of potential sources for my essay.
3. Did not play Candy Crush Saga.

Things I'm looking forward to about tomorrow:

1. I get extra money for the start of semester tomorrow, which will make everything just a little bit more relaxed.
2. I have to buy and do art stuff tomorrow in preparation for Wednesday's day at the studio.

Second Sunday in (of?) Lent

Things that were good:
1. There was a good price on avocados at the fruit market in the plaza. I didn't know there was a fruit market in the plaza at all. I only went into the fruit shop because I had forgotten lemons, and I was only in the plaza (rather than the "marketplace") because I remembered that it had the slightly closer supermarket.
2. My usual fruit market was still open when I got myself out to go the shops.
3. I've been catching up on the Daily Show and the Colbert Report. They are really good.
4. More sleep.
5. The dogs sat with me on the couch while watched the news.

Things I did well:
1. I started my assignment for subject one. I feel really pleased with myself.
2. Did not play candy crush saga.
3. Left the house and did food and chore type things around the house.

Things I'm looking forward to:
1. I have strawberries marinating in the fridge.
2. Catching up with friend for malt thick-shake things.

Lent 10

Doing things way too late, as is my way. I hope that this will change this week.

Things that were good about Saturday:
1. Went to friend's housewarming and it was good.
2. When I got home I got to join my housemate and housemate to be and housemate to be's girlfriend (these people will get nicknames, I guess) curled up on housemate's bed while we waited for the power to come back on.
3. I got all the awesomeness of being out while it was raining and very little of being rained on.
4. Slept in.
5. I did my volunteer shift at the gallery and it was pleasant. I also got to have a couple of conversation with people that were pleasant.

Things I did well:
1. Went to housewarming party.
2. Talked to people at Gallery shift.
3. Ate enough food.

Things I am/was looking forward to about today:
1. More sleeping in.
2. Finally cooking the food that's been in the fridge for more than a week.
